On balance, Gato Roboto is a decent Metroidvania, although given that the Nintendo Switch is absolutely flooded with Metroidvanias, this is one that probably only the most die-hard genre fans will want to get. Also, can someone tell me how a black-and-white game with pixel art graphics and nothing special going on in the sound department can take up half a gig of space on my memory card? For comparison, Super Metroid clocked in at 24MB, so this file size is pretty ridiculous. There are difficulty spikes at some of the game's bosses, and the black and white presentation, while not unappealing, can sometimes make it hard to see objects. However, the game isn't without its problems.
